Ive stumbled across this forum in my internet research in Asperger's Syndrome and joined well, because Im fairly convinced I've find my diagnosis. There is a little bit of a back story here involving a psychiatrist and a temporary break down in sanity but that was merely the beginning. After speaking with staff at a mental health care facility I was offered a possible diagnosis.. It's been about 6 months since then and Ive spent this time replaying every event in my memory while considering the often incomprehensible concepts of the DSM IV. At this point while im officially undiagnosed it would take an extremely convincing argument to sway my opinion and I lack the funds to seek private therapy for validation.
I would describe myself as a highly functional visual thinker although I only learned these words relatively recently being 25. Growing up and passing through school were extremely steep learning curves and stressful although I was fortunate enough to adapt there were so many things that happened that now looking back with knowledge of Asperger's it's all become so clear. I always knew something was different but could never quite figure it out.
PS love the domain name... very fitting. Oh and my "special interest" this year is renewable energy but computers have been a long lasting love affair that'll continue for life im sure. ![]()
