Doesn't look like these get much response other than "Welcome", so here's the sticky questions...

What is your first name? Convince me you care and I'll tell you.

Age: 25.

Location: Atlanta.

Hobbies and Interests: Politics, Wikipedia addiction.

Why are you here? Seeking answers...

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): -

Favorite subjects: Programming, organic chemistry, history.

Year/Grade: -

Favorite music: Doom/symphonic metal.

Books: Anna Karenina, 1984, Farenheit 451.

TV shows/Movies: -

Instrument: Piano. I used to sing.

Do you like sports? If so, which ones?: Never played, don't watch much these days.

Family: Mom, dad, and sister.

Clothing: Preferably loose-fitting.

How did you find this website? Wikipedia.

Job: Computer programmer.

Plans for the future? Do something that matters.

The answer - of course is 42.

Care to be more specific about your question(s).

Do you think you could be aspie?

Why do you think you could be aspie?

Is there something about the way you relate to the world you'd like to change or do better or differently?

Do you want to know more about why people do what they do?

I'm a computer programmer too - sometimes. I wrote my first computer program in 1978. I enjoy writing computer programs. I also like maths. Apparently that makes me weird, and nerdie, especially as I am also female. And girls are "supposed to" hate computers and maths.

I got extremely specific in the Members Only forum about why AS seems to explain a lot for me, not least of which is the root cause of wanting to completely forget the first 14 years of my life... I think I would have been trivially easy to diagnose then and it might have drastically lessened the torment that was elementary and middle school. Alas, I am 25 now and I guess only partially recovered from those years.

Just this week at work I got this guy at work very upset with an e-mail that I didn't mean the way he took it - so yeah, I'd like to decrease the number of social faux pas in my life...

Man, I need to go on the Wikipedia 12 step program. Wikipedia + tabbed browsing was like the invention of crack.

IkariShinji

I feel like I'm not just face blind but nickname blind too - it's a little hard for me working out who has posted what and then recognising the same person when they post somewhere else. There are just so many different people here - it's like trying to deal with a crowd.

I related to most of what you wrote in the other thread.

And I guess I'm learning that posting round here - I can post stuff that offends other aspies (let alone NTs) - or feel offended by what aspies post - like a slap in the face with a cold fish. What gets me though these is - "she (or he ) means well " - said like a mantra. I mean well, sorry if it didn't read that way.

I don't get addicted to wiki - I'm not sure how reliable it is. Sometimes it has the most eloquent description of something - but other times I think I'm reading political spin. I always check with other sources than wiki for anything. Same with google - doesn't always spit out what I expect. Sometimes its fiddled for the country you're in - so I end up in different googles - google.com.au, google.fr, google.co.uk, google.co.nz etc. Or I use a different search engine. I like right click open in new window that IE has but IE has just crapped out on me so I'm back in firefox.

Cool, can't go wrong with programming, and organic chemistry is great too!
