Hi, I've spent hours on this forum in the past few days and decided to join rather than continue to lurk. I'm very glad I found you!

My name is Jessi. A bit about me- I do not have AS, but have many similarities to those of you that do. This helps me understand some things that most "regular" people don't, and also hinders me from understanding some things that "regular" people take for granted. As I post more in the forums I think you'll see what I mean as its hard to explain.

I found this forum because my almost 13 yr old daughter has a number of AS characteristics and we are in the process of getting her evaluated. Her doctor believes the evaluation will be beneficial because, if she does have AS, she will be able to get the help she needs to be successful and better able to care for herself in the adult world.
