I hate character limits!

Hello, I currently live in a town near Belfast in Northern Ireland and was diagnosed with Asperger's in early 2009 but even though I have had a psychologist since then I still don't really know how Asperger's affects ME, apart from the fact that I don't understand some of the main social concepts.

My life is frustrating, I have been stopped going out on my own due to my "inappropriate" behaviour since 2001 when I was coming 19 and suffered from stress but I realize now that had I been allowed out I might have gotten into trouble with the authorites. So due to not going out much I have become socially isolated. At present I only go out socially when my two friends call round every two or three weeks, other than that it's going out messages with my Dad and spending every single night in my room on my computer. However I have been getting interverntional, (is that a word?), clinical psychology for the past while, plus I'm over 25 and so now there's talk of me getting more freedom. In addition I am now in the Cedar Foundation and all being well will be starting a part-time course in September.

Before 2001 life was great, I was enjoying school, doing well academically and going to discos and later pre-formals, then everything changed when I'd been at Uni for about a month. I have even thought: "why is life like an alarm clock? you get a wake-up call"

Other than that, like my username says, I am a bit clueless in that I need my life to be laid out for me by my parents, who I still live with and the very thought of living on my own is daunting, I also have doubts that I am stupid because sometimes I have trouble grasping intellectual concepts.

Hopefully soon I won't have to talk about my behaviour and I'll be a bit happier. Thanks for reading.

Thanks

I posted like that because a that is really what my life is like and b it has made me have low confidence and low self-esteem. I can't wait until I hopefully get to college in September even though it's only a part-time course. This may sound like a strange thing for someone with AS to say but I'm looking forward to meeting new people and chatting to them just as much as learning something new. Don't get me wrong though, I looked at a short list of symptoms for asperger's and thought "that's me", I just don't know how they affect me as a unique individual.

When I'm on my computer every night I'm so bored unless I'm playing a game because it's just a case of trying to find something to do and I end up checking my e-mail via Messenger, (Windows Live), about 20 times! I'm not a big fan of TV, not a telly addict but I do like Stargate and modern Doctor Who.

The only other things I can think of about myself are that I like computer design, (not CAD), plus I'm oversensitive to sound, which is particularly annoying when I'm trying to do something and say the clock strikes, the phone rings or a loud car/motorbike goes past.

I don't complain all the time btw, at least I hope I can say that! However I am sarcastic about myself but not other people, in a witty sort of a way. Thanks for reading.
