Hello,
I've been looking from afar at the site for a long time. Though it about time I joined the forum
I'm 45 years old and from the UK. I have been diagnosed since the 1970s with social anxiety disorder/depression/etc until two years ago when they suddenly clicked that in fact I had Aspergers! I have been unable to work virtually since leaving school, but have been lucky to have had 4 children, who are my life!
Up till 5 years ago I would go months without talking to another person outside my immediate family and weighed a huge 18 stone+. With my doctors help I managed to lose all the weight within a year (and kept it off, apparantly the Aspergers was a major help as I became totally focused on eating the same thing every day, same time, same type of plate/dish etc!). He also encouraged me to go on an educational course mainly as a therapy, to meet people in a social situation. Five years later I'm just coming to the end of a degree! Amazing for me as before hand I had not achieved any sort of qualification ever, left school thinking I was thick!
However the therapy hasn't really worked, if anything got worse, I've been with loads of other students (most 20+ years younger) but never been able to make any friends and still get incredibly nervous and tongue tied when talking.
Anyway just a brief introduction, and also another reason I signed up, for my final dissertation I've produced a website, based on anti - discrimination in every area. It's called anti-stereotypes and has a page each for a lot of subjects, such as age, disability, ethnic, gender, regional etc. My trouble is I'm supposed to get people to go on there and post a stereotype or argue that a stereotype is wrong, I'm supposed to ask friends etc, which isn't possible for me. So if it's allowed, and anyone has a spare few minutes I'd appreciate anyone visiting my site and if possible posting a message (you don't have to sign up to anything or even put an email in if you don't want to).

There's already some posts on this page that I got from the other students in my class having to fill in a questionnaire
