Performing? On Stage? Wow that's impressive. I did Lighting design in the theatre for a decade, over 50 major productions. I have spatial Aspergers so I was able to do it with a fair amount of success, and the late nights and the quiet of the biobox was wonderful. I really did like the theatre world, bit of a cocoon somewhat. I did work in rock n roll, some tv & film but found it a bit tiring and not really aesthetically pleasing or challenging.
I tried acting and was utterly appalling. You'd think having a completely scripted environment would be useful but it gave me horrible horrible anxiety. Still, more power to you.
I've got to the stage where I don't even think of Aspergers as other than something that just is; it's not like you've acquired it at 20 and you need to adjust and rewire your whole conciousness to suit. Other people- what they think- worrying about them involves having free time and free energy that noone I know has. People will just suck you dry, they're vampires. And if it wasn't Aspergers then it would be something else. If you're worried about Aspergers because it's different then don't, cos everyone's different, everyone is carrying some little cross. If they say they're not they're lying.
Have fun with it I say.
Cheers,
G
