A 25 year old Brit here. I self diagnosed myself a few years ago, should have been obvious! My brother is at the extreme end of the spectrum... I just wish that someone had suggested something to me before. The fact that I have no trouble reading facial expressions made me deny it for quite a while. You don't have to posses every trait I suppose.

When I first started to suspect my mindscape I saw my doctor and he said there was no point in getting diagnosed there is no support for aspies.. even though I was still suffering from depression at the time. :/

Well I'm fine now and as happy as a lonelyish guy can be I guess
Enough talking about myself, ill be back later to blab about random things in the forum.

Hi I'm new too, similar scenario, lol. I'm a 23 year old Brit, didn't know a lot about ASD until a doctor I was seeing for something unrelated mentioned it as a possibility, and I read some books which really seemed to resonate. I didn't follow through with a diagnosis because the traits are mild and I don't really want to have to tell people I don't know well, but the books have been really helpful and it was nice to have someone say that the way I think/act sometimes isn't 'weird', which was what people at school used to think!
