I'm a 27 year old female from Pennsylvania. Was officially diagnosed with AS under a year ago and I'm still trying to grasp everything I've learned about it since then. In some aspects of my life it makes sense but in other ways it just leaves me continuously wondering. For a while I thought (and some what still believe) that the home environment had something to do with the way I "grew up". But now learning that it made all have been due to AS leaves me a little confused.

Anyway, just been looking for a forum where I feel like I fit in, hoping this place is that. I'm deeply into (obsessed with?) anything Subaru. But I have no interest in joining a Subaru forum. Go figure. I'm also a Freelance Photographer reworking on my site to get it online and continue to sell my photos. Meanwhile, I work another job locally to help pay for my living expenses while I work on getting my business up and going.

I'm extremely shy offline and not much better online but I do try. I guess that's it for now. Hello!

Perhaps you like to do your special interests in private--free of having to interact with others, so perhaps participating on special interest forums isn't of interest.

Welcome! When I found out about my High-Functioning Autism almost ten years ago, it answered some questions, but it also left me a little lost. Don't worry, it gets easier as you learn more about it.

Hi Legacy---it's good to meet you. My Asperger's has given me special intense interests too such as roller coasters. But like you, I have interests that I don't care to join in on forums. For example, I like photography too. I was somewhat obsessed with Rolleiflex cameras, so I finally a bought a Rolleiflex twin lens reflex---and I have never used it. I then bought a restored Argus C3, joined an Argus camera forum---and don't post there. And I have never used that camera either. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the WrongPlanet and are able to learn from this site. Welcome.
