I am Tom, i am diagnosed with Asperger's Disorder normally i don't go to forums, or other web-pages like it. I have been having a lot of trouble recently, and feel lost. I am just hoping for some conversation, or just perhaps something that i could read around here that might be helpful or comforting. Most likely i will never get a high post count though. I am reading through all of the pages at the moment, so any interest in talking at all, and i would appreciate it.

It has been fairly stressful for me recently. Found out of my mother cheating on my father and he doesn't know. Normally i get along better with my mother but she has been massively insane lately. Along with that i have felt barely able to think half the time. I have tried to look into apartments but i don't really know how to search them. Both of them are refusing any support in this, and it seems close to more than i can just figure out on my own. The girl i had been dating, and cared greatly about also recently left me. There are many things that are adding up on top of each other.

Normally i also do not complain this much.

Seriously, that sounds difficult to deal with--more than you should have to.

Searching for apartments: give these a try:

Also, try the listings in your local newspaper. Write down phone numbers and make some calls.

Beforehand, make a list of criteria (price range, location, amenities, etc.). That'll help you narrow the field.

As for what's going on with your parents, I don't know the details of the situation so I can't suggest whether or not you should tell your dad. It's not fair that you have to be saddled with this information.

I have found websites before, but i don't know exactly what i should be aiming for. Price, or what i need in the apartment. I dont know safe neighborhoods, or what is considered a good price for what your getting.

Price: what you can afford to pay each month after utilities (unless those are included in the rent).

What you need: washer/dryer, microwave/fridge included? Heating/air conditioning? On-site maintenance?

Good price for what you are getting: this largely depends on location because the housing markets are different everywhere.
