Hi, I am an autistic self-advocate with ASAN and an autism researcher (PhD student in educational psychology) at UCLA. Feel free to ask anything (or request that certain research be done, etc.) and I hope to get to know you too. :)

Welcome, Steven, and best of luck with the work you are doing!

Since you've opened up the conversation, I'd love to see more research done in regards to females with ASD, especially in the area of developing diagnostic tools that are less gender-biased. Once we do this and professionals are more educated about the ways ASD can manifest differently in women, I think we will see the 4-to-1 male-to-female with AS ratio even out a lot more and women with ASD may have better access to the supports they need.

also, I was hoping to develop a list of resources to help someone on the autistic spectrum - such as with body language, interpreting facial expressions and applying for jobs etc. And also to look into any medication or supplements which may help someone with a diagnosis of an autistic spectrum disorder.

Can work with you in your research if you want, I research both of these sometimes.
