Hello and a quick question

Hello everyone my name is Brandon and I'm 22 years old, and I was recently diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome which I pursued after my girlfriend kept on bothering me and bothering me to at least go in and meet with the doctor's. I thought she was wrong about the whole thing because honestly I didn't know what Aspergers was and the word it was attached to, Autism, kinda scared me, but like with everything she was right. She brought up joining a group or a forum so I decided to join this forum and it seems like a great forum.

But, I had a question when I got my diagnosis and the papers documenting my examination, I was told that I was diagnosed with the following: A Cognitive Disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, and anxiety in that exact order. So I was wondering what that meant, do I have Asperger's or a cognitive disorder or anxiety? Is one more prevalent than the other and if so does that mean I have a cognitive disorder rather than Aspergers because it was the first listed on the list of three?

I don't know if I'm approaching this in the wrong set of mind, I'm just trying to make sense of it all.

I'm not a doctor but Asperger's is often comorbid with other disorders. It sounds like you don't have one more than the other - you have all three - but only your doctor can clarify that for you. Your doctor should also be a good resource for finding support groups or other services in your area if you should need them.

Everyone here always seems happy to welcome another familiar face! Your girlfriend sounds wonderfully supportive. There may be much here for her as well.
