Hello all I am new here I have been newly diagnosed with the aspergers it came as a shock because I am an artist, social scientist and incredibly funny (Jokes work like little math problems).
well I was working with a friend on some business in graph theory and he started to complain about some social problems he was having. They were based on misunderstanding of peoples motives so I did a little social translation for him. after which said to him
"I think you might have aspergers".
his reply was "you think you don't".
Turns out neurotypical folks don't use matrices to figure out if a girl wants to go out with them.
after seeing a headshrinker I was rated on the spectrum.
I think no one noticed till I was 36 because I am physically attractive and the humor thing :wink:
So there I am a aspie but passing for a eccentric NT.

It is most certainly true that some of us higher functioning autistics have an ability to blend in. I certainly could if I really wanted to. But I choose to be that somewhat odd looking guy who dresses in the jeans and black hoodie with the long curly hair and the pleasant attitude. Who always jumps around.
