The reason why I joined this community is because, for quite a while now, I have been suspecting that I might have Asperger syndrome, and sort of 'self-diagnosed' myself. My parents said "Oh, you're smart, there's no way you have Asperger's/Autism!", which isn't very logical.

Your right it is not very logical for them to say you do not have AS because your smart. They must have a distorted view of what AS is.
