Post a snip of conversation you've had today in which you were rather obvious.

I'll start.

I made a pot of tea for my girlfriend. The kettle had a few grains of uncooked rice that had spilled on it from when I made rice last night. As I poured the tea into the cup:

Her: Something just fell in the cup. What is it?
Me: Don't worry, it's not a maggot. It's a grain of rice. I think.
Her: I am so glad that you are not a waiter.
Me: [picking up another grain of rice just to make sure] Yes. It is rice. Not a maggot. Though in Sardinia there is a cheese which they eat with maggots in it. The maggots can jump over a foot high, and can burrow out of the stomach lining if not chewed properly. It's illegal there, in the one place where the people are crazy enough to eat maggot cheese.
Her: I will try to drink this without thinking of maggots.

I am from Sardinia and I've being eating maggot cheese for years. It's delicious, it tastes like roquefort but it's a little sweeter: it depends on how old the cheese is. You should have tried it before saying Sardinians are crazy. You just have to close your eyes and think that your cheese is enriched in proteins.
PS My stomach is ok

Oh, I'd try it if I could. I once ate a goat head, Chinese snails, and Kopi Luwak (coffee beans extracted from the feces of a ferret-like animal. The digestion strips the shell off the bean and produces a smoother, more aromatic coffee). Sorry for the offense.

This is what TvTropes would call Foreign Queasine. Just look at the list and pick the food which would make you wonder about the mental state of those who would eat it. Almost certainly, they'd find a similar reaction to something you eat. I consider it just another reason to believe that weirdness is relative.

We may not get along on everything, but we can all agree that somewhere, someone is eating something which makes us queasy. This is our unifying bond as humans.

Well, I usually don't catch myself saying things that are GLARING, but I can probably pick out the occasional thing anyway.

I remember that today I was sitting at lunch with my girlfriend, Dorothy, who was about to go to work and was not crazy about the idea at all since she hates her job. I'd been trying to argue logically why she shouldn't be afraid to go to work, to no avail. She was starting to shake, and I didn't want to see her like that or start snapping at her for lack of a better solution.

So I looked up at her, said, "Door?" And she looked up at me upon hearing her nickname. Then I randomly touched my finger to her nose and went, "BOOP!"

That did earn a chuckle. I assume it probably looked too stupid to not laugh at it. :P

Haha, thanks for the welcome. I'm still trying to understand myself better, and hopefully I can get at least a few answers here. ;)

I was talking to my new Asian friend, she told me her name, I said 'That's very... non English', and then I felt like an idiot.

Someone texted: How are you?

I texted: I hate that question.

Richie,
have you already been in Sardinia or they ship maggot cheese in Pennsylvania?
