New here - have lurked a little

Hi. I am new here. I have lurked here before a little bit when I have been feeling especially down in the dumps about my social situation and how I feel about it, because Google searches sent me here a lot when I tried searching for help with my problems. Now I have some questions and want to participate in some discussions so I joined. I strongly suspect that I'm an Aspie but maybe I'm just somewhere on the autism spectrum without having all of the criteria for Asperger's.

I have always had problems dealing with other people. I started becoming really withdrawn way back in elementary school after people pretty consistently felt that I was weird, inappropriate, hyperactive, etc. I graduated from university a while back and am still dealing with the same old social problems as ever. I frequently become overloaded and withdrawn. I keep hoping I'll get to a better place in my life but so far it hasn't happened. But I'm hoping that I can at least get a more positive perspective and be able to deal with all the nastiness that life seems to enjoy throwing my way.
