Hello everybody! I'm new here!
I'm not very good with introductions, but I guess I should tell a bit about myself first.
My real name is Bethany, and I'm currently 15 years old, soon to be 16. I haven't been formally diagnosed with Asperger's, as I've never actually been assessed, though I'm certain I have it. You see, it was a couple months ago (I think) that my mum was telling me about Asperger's and how, over the years, she's always had a feeling that I'm an Aspie. Last night, I finally got around to doing more research on it; I read the entire Wikipedia article on Asperger's and found that almost all of the symptoms describe me, including all the main ones.
Aside from that, my hobbies include drawing, writing stories, singing, playing piano, and playing video games. I also like to travel, though I don't like flying, so I prefer to go places by car or train if the trip can be made within a day. Niagara Falls (particularly the Canadian side) is one of my favourite places to go, and I sometimes get to go there with my family for a day or two in the summer because it's not that far away for us. I also like to visit England; most of my family lives there, as well as a good friend of mine, so, instead of a busy vacation crammed full of activities (not to mention a cramped hotel room), I get more of a laid-back and 'at home' feeling when I'm there because I get to stay with family and friends.
I didn't really mean to type this much... and nearly half of it was just about places I like to go. It's pretty common for me to go on long rants or monologues like this (sometimes, though, they get much longer, where I'll type up several paragraphs with the intention of, say, a few sentences), though that's apparently one trait related to Asperger's, so I guess that's just normal for people like me.
Anyway, I hope to make some new friends here; I find conversing with online friends easier than with real-life friends, which is something I'm sure a lot of you here can relate to.
If you have any questions about me, feel free to ask~!
