Guess I'm more "official" this way.
A few years ago, someone I do theater with had a son with Aspergers that was helping backstage, and was upset that a girl in the cast was flirting with him by touching him. That was the first I'd heard of the condition, and thought it interesting since I'm not a fan of being touched either.
Then about a year ago, some online friends in tech support were talking about their Aspie leanings, and a lot struck home with me. So I started researching, and finally came across this forum. The more I read, the more I knew that the condition describes me.
A little more about me, since this is an intro thread - I live in Louisville, KY, happily married to an understanding woman for five years now, and I do a lot of acting. Mostly theater, and generally off-the-wall stuff (currently remounting the comedic "Point Break Live", based on the Keanu Reeves/Patrick Swayze movie where we cast an audience member to play the Reeves role). Recently started delving into movies as well - one independent film being officially released in a couple of weeks, one in a principal role with wrestler Al Snow in the lead (most of my scenes are with him), and a couple more in pre-production. My current big project is adapting the book/movie "Fire in the Sky" on the alien abduction of Travis Walton for the stage.
I frequently post on Twitter @actingupagain, and on a side note, I absolutely love smiley-face icons that wear sunglasses.
Just wanted to add my thanks to everyone so far that has answered my questions asked thus far - you've really helped light a candle for my darkness!
