Hi I'm Rachel I am really interested in Autism. I want to work with children with special needs when I am finished school and I have worked with Autistic kids in the past. I would like to learn as much as I can about autism.

Though the weird thing is I've been reading so much about Autism and Asperger's I am relating to a lot of stuff especially the social stuff. So even if I'm not autistic I can relate to some of the stuff and I guess that helps me empathize better. I'm socially akward but I think that has helped me be able to work with people with Autism because I can relate but I want to learn about it as much as I can. i'm looking into taking the Autism and Behavioral Sciences post-grad course after I've done my degree my degree is in Sociology and psychology.

I'm no aficionado on the subject (seriously look at my age) but all I can suggest is that people with Autism are individuals just like people without Autism, and there is no hard and fast rule to how to treat them.

It's getting rather late, all I can think of right now for a generalisation is not to crowd them too much, could just be me but I'm pretty sure most/all people with autism really don't like that. But you probably already knew that :)
