Thought I'd say hello.
I've been lurking for a while having self diagnosed and am currently going through the professional diagnosis procedures in the UK.

:)

Hello! I hope it doesn't take too long for you to be diagnosed.

Me too.
It's taken a while already though..
1st GP ignored my questions about aspergers and sent me for depression counselling..
2nd one first referred to a place that doesn't have the capacity to assess aspergers, then to the right place.
Spent 1st 45 mins of a 2 hour assessment with the assessor having the wrong notes...
They are now assessing a questionnaire my parents have filled in, and I'm waiting for a 2nd appointment.
(I'm borderline/mild so It's probably harder to diagnose yes/no than someone where it's more severe).

Would you be disappointed if you're diagnosed not Aspergers? or are you just kind of browsing? It could be because you don't buy it yourself.

I think I'd be puzzled.
After struggling with various aspects of my life for a long time, I found out about the details of Aspergers almost by accident (although I've previously known someone with it) and everything clicked into place. Even if I don't technically have Aspergers, I'm definitely on the autism spectrum somewhere.
Having done a fair amount of reading and numerous quizzes (including the ones on here), Aspergers simply seems the closest fit for me in terms of the symptoms and various aspects of my life.

Well I had my 2nd assessment appointment and my diagnosis is 'mild atypical Asperger's', which I kind of what I expected, and a letter is being sent to my GP and copied to myself to confirm that in writing.

Feels somewhat of a relief.
firstly, that I have at most (I think) of the explanation I was looking for , for various matters and secondly that my self diagnosis was correct.
The doc did say there were ADD elements, but obviously not enough for a separate diagnosis for that..
