Hello, I'm 15 and I just joined. I occasionally would browse every once in a while, and then I decided it might be worthwhile to create an account. I just started high school, and I'm not very sure what to expect. I'm interested in astrophysics, cosmology, surrealist art and classic literature. I was diagnosed with a nonverbal learning disability when I was 10 but my doctor recently noticed that a lot of the traits I display are more characteristic of Asperger's than NLD. I have awful social skills, and at the age of 15 I'm making my first friends, but am honestly quite unsure of how to maintain a friendship because this is quite new to me. I chose my username because a lot of people refer to me as such, due to my strange speech patterns which can often become quite formal and precocious for my age. People are starting to notice my literal-mindedness and inability to make eye contact and rocking back and forth and my lack of smiling and laughing and all those other quirks that me and my family can no longer use childhood as an excuse for. Fortunately for me, my quirks are charming to some people, and this is causing me to be optimistic because I'm tired of having to watch everyone else have fun while I'm left aloof and lonely. On a more shallow level, I should probably mention my favorite movies and TV shows and music and books. My favorite movies include Star Wars, The Lion King, Indiana Jones, and a whole lot of other movies I don't feel like listing because I seem to like a lot of movies, just because I'm really picky about the Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic scores of each movie I watch. My favorite TV shows are My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Community, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, Spongebob, The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory, Fairly OddParents (the older seasons, I don't like the newer ones), The Big Bang Theory, and I just watch too much TV in general. My favorite music is Queen and The Beatles, but I have a lot of very random stuff such as everything from songs from Fiddler on the Roof to classical music to the better pop to humorous stuff like The Lonely Island. My favorite books are Slaughterhouse-Five, Catch-22, The Great Gatsby, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, 1984, Animal Farm, Brave New World and Harry Potter. I'm currently reading 6 books right now, because I can never just read one. I apologize if my rambling is annoying and I look forward to using these forums.
