What's up Kevin, and welcome!
It sounds like you're a little stuck inside your head. This is a great place to put the books aside, stop the internal monologue, and chat with good people about all sorts of random stuff.
OK, so list of things to keep in mind for now:
(X) Make sure, "put the books aside," means what I think it means
(?) Post with less of the naïve tendencies and more with the leisure drive
( ) Reduce stream-of-consciousness posts (this post resembles what it describes!)
(X) Increase chatting
( ) Random stuff (internal dialogue transcript: "Self, you really need to get your hands on a d20." "Oh, do I?" "But of course you do. Think of what SoftlyStepping described." "Ach, but then I will have to ask my parents." "Why not just visit a gaming supplies store?" "I don't know any." "What's the use of being random like that anyway?" "Well, how should I know, I'm not the neurotypical Self-influencer. I haven't even played a session with any of those electronically dusty sourcebooks. All I do is create stuff that will never be realized." "But the fact that you're even thinking to me that openly means some progress." "Perhaps, but..." "So get on your feet and communicate! Besides, don't you suspect that the Random Stuff refers to emergent randomness?" "Well, I suppose so." "No d20's for you, then. As it is, carrying a d6 everywhere has only atrophied your random instinct." "OK, then...")
( ) Reduce thinking to self rather than thinking by self (reduce internal dialogues AND monologues)
I like these forums, mainly because I get to deliberate on my responses more than in real life. The dialogue bit was spontaneous, and I found it rather enjoyable to imagine what it would be like as a neurotypical. I know that neurotypicals would have actual, not internal, dialogue. Note the relatively poor grammar regarding quotes. That would never make a good novel, and I would avoid that if it was not for spontaneity. Do posts like these often happen in mild-to-moderate AD?
