Hello,
First of all, I would like to tell you I picked my nickname in a list of Latin phrases almost randomly. I like Latin phrases a lot and for someone who never learned this language, I can say my understanding of it is pretty good.
Having been lucky (?) enough to travel all around the world since my early childhood due to my father's jobs opportunities, I had never met quality doctors long enough to know what was the condition that made me different. I suffered a lot from this.
As my parents are French, I was usually sent to French school. There were places where French Education could not be made at schools, in that case I was sent to International English-speaking schools and once I was even attending class in Spanish for half a year in Chile. Thus it's not odd for a guy like me to read and write a nearly-flawless English.
During my teenage years, I was completely lost. My NT classmates were, in general, acting horrible (except girls who weren't acting i general) towards me. I could not tell if the bullying that was going on was acceptable or not, since I didn't know anything else at that time. I became depressive. I didn't want to do anything, I even committed suicide twice. As of today, I think those two attempts were really stupid, because life is priceless and you can always be sure that when you have reached the bottom of the lake you can only swim up...
I managed, even with all that sadness, anger, and social anxiety, to achieve excellent results in every subject, with very little work at home. The last years of high school were getting harder, I wasn't following. I made my first friend when I was 17. She was sweet, honest, she would help me, I would help her, and thanks to her and her support I passed my high school graduation exam. I don't really know if I was in love with her. I then left my parents' and my friend (it was difficult, trust me) to live at my uncle's house in Southern France to study IT. There, even if most people thinks I am odd, I am generally accepted as part of the group.
I moved recently to live on my own in a flat in Marseille. I was diagnosed AS there six months ago by a psychiatrist, the French specialist of Asperger's Syndrome. I then could name what made me different. Nearly 22 years without knowing I was an Aspie. Never mind
I found this site a week ago while browsing Wikipedia and I am not sure I will be that active due to my current projects like programming my own social (
) network.
My special interests are IT, literature, video games (Minecraft ! !). I would like to emphasize that I really love cats !
I have much more to share but this will be too much for a single post. I really think sharing and discussing my experience with others is definitely interesting.
See you on the boards !
