I'm a 30 year old aspie who's been making struggling slow progress toward living independently. I have my own apartment and I'm hoping to try to go to college again maybe next year. I feel like I'm in this weird medium-functioning place that is between and pretty far away from stereotypes about both extremes. I'm pretty sure I might have been institutionalized if things had gone a little differently growing up. But I'm here now and I'm doing better every year but I was always held back by the lack of people who understood how hard everything was.
I've just recently discovered that there is actually an autistic spectrum community and it might be a place that understands me. I've been reading blogs for a while and have been totally convinced that I've finally found my people so to speak 
And now I've gotten over my shyness to post here and maybe I can find people to talk to here.
So hi everybody I guess...

It's good that you're doing better every year and I hope you can go back to college!
I'm sure you'll find people here who understand your struggles better than anybody else (:
