hello, my name is devan. i do not recognize the instetution of Uniform Spelling for the english language, and therefore may have many spelling "errors" this makes me nervouse to type or blog with other people, especially people with simmilar intilectual abilities such as my own, as i know it may open me up to ridicule and cause others to question my general intelagance. that being said, i discovered this page while reading the wiki article on aspergers for the 5th time, and finnaly decided to join up. i have had alot of internal conflict over weather or not this would open me up to a world of people like me, or simply result in yet another failed social encounter. so i guess ill find out soon enough. other attempts at reaching out via blog resulted in numerouse views, and no replies and i expect the same result here. i filled out the info, confirmed with my e-mail, and explored the page.. what now?

Hello Devan and welcome Don't worry. The people around here are generally friendly. Well, you do encounter the occasional idiot but its rare.

As far as the spelling, don't worry. The more you type and view the boards the more familiar English will become because you will be seeing it and communicating.

As for something to do. . . . I personally find the "off the wall" forum to be quite fun . Its got lots of quizzes and forum games.

Oh really? Cool , what instrument do you play? I am a music freak but I don't play an instrument.

well my lack of social and work life gives me quite some time... so. Guitar, harmonica, piano, vocals, bass, drums, slide, and i also write lyrics (being a writer the lattter comes more naturally) its not nearly as impresive as it sounds, having a good concept of music theory can allow an individual to self-teach most instramental skills. that being said, my abilities are all fairly basic, and my inability to pick one instrament has rendered me adept at most, but impresive at none. i can agree with you on the music = life stand though. not being able to relay my emotions to anyone at anytime (effectivly) caused me to seek music as a form of therapy. idk what i would do without it. other than go crazy. ha ha

Wow that's quite an impressive list. I wish to learn the piano and guitar. I can't really afford any instruments just yet though.

thank you. yes intraments can be expensive, and it deffinatly reflects in all other aspects of my life haha. always tell myself "ok. this is for rent, not for a guitar!" never quite succeed in that endevor though.
