Hi,

first post... Officially "semi-aspie" for about 64 hours now. Not a clue what to make of it yet. Until Tuesday I thought I was just a bit sh***y at life, and ruined my marriage as I was a failure... Now I have no idea what to think about who or what I am.

I don't have full on Aspergers, so I don't know how / if a community like this would relate to me. Maybe I'll never know, but I feel like i'm intruding just reading about people with a much clearer set of traits than me.

Hello and welcome RocketSurgeon!

I am not diagnosed either so I know how you feel to some extent and often feel confused about it. There are people here from all parts of the spectrum and also some NTs aswell. I hope this website proves useful on your voyage of self discovery. :)

Welcome to Wrong Planet.

I'm not officially diagnosed either, and yet I share so many of the classic traits (especially typical female traits) that I can't help but feel more of a link to most users here than I ever have to my peers.

Some of us older folks didn't attend school in a time when this diagnosis existed. As a result, it seems after much self and soul searching our entire lives, when we find this, suddenly it all fits together.

I'll be completely honest with you - there are times I feel like an outsider here too because I'm not professionally diagnosed (yet), but for the most part, everyone is very understanding and welcoming. And users here are more honest than people I've ever known in person.

I don't have official stats for you, but I'm sure at least 30% of users here are self Dx (or pre-diagnosed, as I prefer to refer to it). And some users are neurotypical who have an Autistic or Asperger's person in their lives.

Welcome RocketSurgeon! I'm new, too, but it seems like there are lots of undiagnosed or almost-Aspies on this board. And I'm sure there are also plenty of us who are screwing up our marriages! I know I did before we figured out what my deal was. :)

hello. welcome! im also new here, although my diagnosis was rather severe, i can relate to how it must feel to be semi-aspie, as my sister struggles with it as well. i cant really relate, but i can understand your situation in a laboratory context.
