Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am the older brother to a mostly non verbal 9 year old with Autism. I am also a recent computer science graduate from the University of Pennsylvania. I found that my brother does very well with the iPad, but I haven't found a communication/skill app that is user friendly and intuitive for both the user and the caregiver. Therefore, I began developing my own iPad app about 5 months ago which I believe may be better suited for many individuals with Autism than what is currently available. I'll be starting to test out the app this week and I'm excited to see how it goes. I'll release more details in the near future and I'm open to suggestions as to what you would like to see included in the app.

Welcome.

Sounds like a good idea. I know a few people who could really use it. My only suggestion would be to make an iPod Touch or iPhone version too, because iPads are expensive...

Firstly, welcome!
And it surely is a great idea. But I agree with Makayla. It would be more accessible then. In any case, it's quite a good initiative of yours.

Nice! Although I have a distaste for the iPad, you developing an app for your brother is something to be happy for! Hope you could port your app to Android (I am planning to get a Galaxy Tab 10.1) and to Windows Metro (which I'm using right now).

Thanks for all the support. Big D, I will certainly port it to Android if I receive good feedback. Makayla and Kobi, I don't have a plan for an iPod or iPhone version at this point, as the current design wouldn't work well on a smaller screen. I will definitely put some thought into how I can adjust it for a smaller screen in the future. Thanks.

Hi all, I changed my name to reflect the name of the app. It will be available within weeks and is already being used in a couple schools for autism in nyc as well as by my brother and cousin. I'm very happy with the way it turned out
