Well, it seems I have finally signed up for this website. It has awaited me for years now, and only now have I decided to sign up. I've always known this site to be a reliable source of information and discussion, but for some odd reason I still never signed up.

Well, I'm here now, so let's get onto some personal details. I am a 14-year-old Aspie teenager with a strong knack for technology. I blow all of my friends, family, and teachers away with my extensive knowledge of the technological arts. While they struggle typing in websites properly, I am busy setting up SSH tunnels through my laptop at home while using Firefox portable and PuTTY to set up a SOCKS proxy wherever my flashdrive may be, chatting on #minecraft at Espernet IRC and installing Linux on yet another old computer. I am also a very fluent in the spelling and grammatical arts, and I greatly enjoy reading. I have quite a few close friends (many are Aspies), and I have quite a good life. The SILC program at my school is great and they do a wonderful job at helping me out whenever I have a problem, and they all love me.

I was adopted, although I do have the contact information for my biological family and I occasionally play Minecraft or have conversations with them. I currently live in Sugar Land, Texas with an often-misbehaved sister named Lauren, a wonderfully caring mother, a fun and friendly father, an adorable, spastic Sheltie named Sammy and a sweet, mute kitty named Lilly.

I am a very avid gamer and I know the difference between graphics and gameplay, and I often find myself playing retro games from times long before I was born.

I have to say, I have a pretty good life and I'm looking to make some more friends who understand me and share some of the same interests. I honestly do not personally know ANYBODY with the same technological skill level as me, so I can't have a casual conversation about technology without explaining every last word.

Hell yeah! Another Linux geek! I'm still weaning myself off Windows... my laptop dual-boots Win7 and Ubuntu, I'm trying to get the latter to the full hardware functionality of the former so I can finally tell Bill Gates "Al vita ze, Motherf***er!"

I'm Kevin, but here I go by Roxas_XIII or just Roxas. I'm currently taking a break from college, when I do go back however I'll be shooting for a degree in Computer Science so I can get into the programming industry.

I've lost touch with a lot of my senpai in that department, and the ones I still talk to aren't as experienced with Linux, so I might shoot you a PM asking for tech support from time to time. I do pretty well handling my own IT problems, but there's still the odd thing that needs sorting out.

That said, I'm also on Steam (zer0emperor), Skype (Auriga_Nexus), and Facebook (www.facebook.com/kelvin.of.the.rebellion). Feel free to hit me up on any of those, though do be warned I rarely use Skype because my webcam sucks, and it requires me to be running Windows. Bleah.

Thanks, guys! One thing I forgot to mention is I am going to be a video game developer as an adult, taking huge inspiration from Mojang, Bethesda, and countless other great developers. I bet I'll meet some great people here, and I'm glad to have joined.

Hey, a fellow future game dev! Nice to meet you, dude. I'm also new to the site, but I've wanted to develop games since I was 7 (my uncle is a producer in the industry). I actually get to go to E3 every year, so if you want any inside info on the show or the industry, feel free to ask me. I'm guessing, due to the fact that you're a Linux user that you want to be a game programmer? Lots of math, dude. Lots and LOTS of math. Get ready for Pre-Calculus, because you'll need it.

That said, glad to see there are kids out there with an appreciation for the classics! I'm 24 myself and far too often find teens today who have never even HEARD of the Nintendo 64 and it just rips my heart out in addition to making me feel old.

Lastly, Minecraft was pretty much tailor made for Aspies IMO. I love seeing the crazy things people make with that game, so if you have pics, feel free to post.

I don't feel like I've been here long enough to say "welcome" but either way, welcome.
