Hi I'm new

Hi, I am new so please bear with me.

I am the adult neurotypical daughter of a dad who I think may be aspergers. I have only just figured it out. He has always been so hard to live with. Very disconnected, longwinded conversations without realised others are bored to death. Shouting over little things and then he'll put it in the "we shall never speak of this again" part of his mind. He always cuts his bananas into 12 pieces. The list goes on and on. It finally makes sense. It hasn't been easy for me as the oldest of three, I've had to be the "helper" to my mum. It's been a strain. And it still is. In some ways he is a big scary man one minute, the next, he is a big kid who needs help. Like a switch that goes on and off. Does this sounds familiar? I'd love some help here.
