Hi everyone,

My name is Joe, and I have an almost 8 year old stepson who is not officially diagnosed with Aspergers, but is exhibiting most of the characteristics. I've been spending a lot of time reading online, and figured I'd join up and see if there are some more resources and advice available to help me understand my little guy even more, and look forward to interacting with everyone!

I know I'm not perfect, and from never being exposed to Aspergers previously- it's been challenging yet still fun at the same time. My wife says I'm good for my son since I'm "so level tempered" with him when she struggles sometimes with clothing and attention issues. Try getting him into a Cub Scout uniform!! I've been lucky enough to have been a part of his life for the last 4 years, and wouldn't change it for the world. I just recently finished reading John Robison's book "Be Different" and found a lot of parallels. It was interesting to say the least...

Hi Joe! Welcome to Wrong Planet! Check out the interesting and helpful forums and articles here. Some of them are for parents of kids on the Autism/Asperger's spectrum. There is also a games forum, and kids forums, so you might like to check those out and see if they might be good for your step son to try out.
