Hi!
My name is Sage. I have been diagnosed with Aspergers when I was two, and my childhood has been... er, long story. Lets just say I am thankful for my experiences, and I have come a long way with the help of wonderful people in my life.
I love to learn, and I adore intellectual play. My technophilia is largely confined to the workings of software, and I thrive on stimulating discussion.
Since I started working towards my Associates as a computer science major two-years ago, I ended up doing lots of challenging things such as designing an unmanned mission to Mars for a NASA scholarship in Huntsville, AL and speaking (extremely rapidly) at the Community College Humanities Association in Fort Worth, TX about one of my projects. I have been lucky enough to be named one of the Tech 21 in the Mississippi Business Journal for my academic accomplishments.
Things I need to work on include being more enticed with what could be done than actually doing things (which the subject line conveys). Still, I do have a growing portfolio with projects including a web app that estimates litigation costs and various graphic design projects.
My goal is to establish an autonomous lifestyle with deep, meaningful relationships that allows for varied experiments in engineering, frequent travel and endless study.
I joined WrongPlanet because I am eager to meet others and hear about how their experiences with AS changed as they got older. Since my life had changed so dramatically in a few years, I felt as if I was "outgrowing" mine. My old psychiatrist tells me that is not the case, but he did say many of my symptoms would lessen over the years.
It is great to meet all of you, and I am sure I will enjoy my time here!
