Hi all, I'm a college student (biology major) and I've recently started suspecting that I may have Asperger's. I'm holding off a while before telling my parents and attempting to get a diagnosis, but my research makes me feel about 90% certain I'm somewhere on the spectrum.
I won't lie - I was pretty resistent to the conclusion at first. Going away to college helped me make huge progress with my social issues, and for a while I thought there was hope I might eventually become "normal". But the more I looked into the symptoms of Asperger's, the more I realized how well it explained my entire life. It's almost alarming, really. Like my personality is one of those chalk optical illusion/street art things: a weird, meaningless jumble until you view it from the right angle and suddenly the pattern emerges.
But anyway, enough of my weird metaphors haha. Other fun facts about me: I love to read, I'm currently obsessed with all things British, and I come down solidly on the side of the felines in all dog vs cat wars
Btw, if anyone is curious about what specifically makes me think I'm an aspie, just let me know and I'd be happy to provide a list
