Did a google search to try and link Robin Williams and Asperger's, and ended up in here. Suddenly it felt like my birthday and I'm so looking forward to being a member here.

I'm 31 and residing in Denmark. I was diagnosed with Asperger's about 6 months ago. I'm not one of those that have like an alien on the planet, neither did I really think I was overly different. In fact the only thing I only ever puzzled over in regards to NT's, was that fact that they all seemed less intelligent and with a very slow processing speed.

Greetings to you too, fellow alien. I sometimes wish I actually was an alien. If I was, I could get in my spaceship and fly to my home world and be with others who will not think I am very strange. I know for a while I always thought I was very normal, but I never really was. Even though I have no official diagnosis, I've done lots of research on AS and I have realized I have many of its symptoms.

I know the feeling about wanting to go where people don't find you strange. A couple of years ago I worked 6 months in a different country. They all thought my quirkyness was a cultural difference, they didn't find me odd because they thought everybody from my country was like that and thus just accepted it. Quite odd when you think about it It was one of the best times of my life.

I'm glad you had a good experience, but I would be afraid to go to another country. I feel like enough of an outsider where I live, but going elsewhere would be worse.
