Hey, I'm new to the forum, and I'm excited you all are here. I was talking to a friend last month who just got diagnosed with asperger's, and he suggested I might have asperger's, too. I'm in the process of getting appointments scheduled to get diagnosed, but I've been researching AS a lot and so far it's been a major revelation, explains my entire life. Anyway, I live in the southeast and I'm a single mom of a totally fabulous sixteen year old son, who I think probably has AS also. Might explain why for eight years he played exclusively with legos. Now he's obsessed with fashion and interior design, and I'm obsessed with poxviruses. Its an amazing process figuring all this stuff out, and I'm really happy that I'm finally starting to make sense to myself. Thank you to everyone who posts and moderates and makes this site happen!

Isn't it great to finally feel like your life just makes sense? That revelation period is a weird one... you'll constantly realize something else you do that could be explained by AS. It's like getting an "a-ha!" moment every day! I hope you've shared this revelation with your son. I'm sure he'd get a great deal of amazement out of it, too.
