Hello,
I am 32, struggling with raising two children and doing PhD studies in the same time - not easy for anyone, I believe. As exhaustion, anxiety and depression took over, I started seeing a therapist, who suggested the keyword for me: Asperger syndrome. First I was surprised, and then digged deeper and deeper and found out about the female type of ASD. That fitted me. That explained me. That made my life make sense - like a jigsaw puzzle that finally starts to show a big picture.
I have rather little chance to obtain an official diagnosis - in my country there is very little knowledge about diagnosing ASD in adults and the female traits (maintaining social life through observation and reasoning) make the situation even worse. There is also very little and mostly useless help for adults with ASD.
Anyway, I finally understand who I am and why I was always feeling different while not appearing different.
Hoping to find my place in the community.
