Hi hi, my name is Matt, I'm a 20 year old college student in Miami FL that was diagnosed with Aspergers about 6 months ago. This community interests me in that it's nice to know that there are people who share similarities with me, additionally it's nice to have an online resource of people with a commonality to me to share ideas and experiences with. I plan to be spamming your boards with great regularity in the near future

Not the best choice of words, I suppose.

Most people who make it to 20 without an official diagnosis often don't bother, and there are a lot of self-diagnosed adults on here. If it's not too personal, I'd like to know how and why you got a diagnosis at your age.

Jetson: My diagnosis was quite accidental actually, I was seeing a psychiatrist prior to ever hearing about aspergers for what I thought were completely unrelated things (which I later found out were symptomatic) My psychiatrist admitted there could be a possibility that I had an autistic spectrum disorder (which was news to me as I was unaware of the autistic spectrum) and after quite a bit of testing I was diagnosed.

The spamming comment is fairly innocuous too, truth to be told I'm a rather infrequent poster
