Does anyone here use MSN?

I'm From NZ so I only log onto AIM about once a month because I don't prefer the style of it.

I log onto MSN every few days at the least.

Just wondering how popular MSN is with the people here.

My friends are pretty evenly split between MSN and AIM, so I'm usually using both at the same time with Trillian.

I use MSN because I prefer it and because I can't get any of the other IM programs to work on either my Mom's or Dad's computer :?

I use it because all of my friends use it. I try to make them at least move over to Trillian, but noes, they WANT the original...

I use GAIM on Linux and that allows me to connect to MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, and AIM. Talk about the best of all IM worlds :D

I always used Trillian, but Alex suggested Gaim to me yesterday funnily enough... it works well in Windows and has a number of nice features.

I have not managed to connect to YIM using it in Linux yet unfortunately - the bloody thing keeps telling me the passwordis incorrect :x

Is it a new account created on on GAIM for Linux or an upgrade.

I think when I upgraded GAIM once I ran into that problem. I would suggest deleting the account and then recreating it. That may work. It did for me.

I was going to say MSN but then I realised I only have three contacts (relatives) and I've blocked them so I can't strictly say I use MSN.

If I was to use IM it would be MSN.

I use AIM mainly, as I have more friends on it, but I also stay logged on through MSN Messenger as I have a couple friends and some relatives on that service.

If you want my contact info, feel free to PM me. I don't make it part of my public profile, because it invites a lot of random NTs messaging me to make small talk. :P

Oh, and I'm using Trillian right now; I've also used GAIM, and may or may not switch back to it in the future.

I use jabber. MSN is not somewhere I want to trust with my chat messages, nor is it accessible from my operating system.

I do make it part of my public profile. ljbouchard? Do you have a jabber addy? How did you register for MSN, since gaim can't register new accounts on MSN?

1) No, I do not have a Jabber Address although I could get one if need be.

2) If I remember correctly, I think I registered my email address with MS Passport and that is what I use as my login name (the full address). I know it is evil but my spam filter works pretty good so.....

We use it at work to keep in contact with the disparate members of our team (although you're not officially allowed to use it for business as its unauditable.... Shhhh - don't tell anyone ). I don't have any friends, so have no need to use it personally though......

No MSN but I do have AOL and Yahoo. I've heard something about a program that lets you use your screen names for all 3 programs, but I don't know what it is.

My DSL provider pushes the whole MSN 8 package, including the messenger. I think it's unnecessary rubbish, frankly.
