The rules are quite clear...
Quote:
2. Personal attacks.
This includes insinuation, ridicule and personal insults, regardless of whether direct or indirect. Attacking an opinion, belief or philosophy is acceptable, but attacking the person making the comments is not.
In recent days, all over the board, I have noticed a lot of people violating this rule. Some are older members. Some are new, but it is becoming more prevalent.
Why?
Honestly... part of the reason I came here was to "be among my own kind," as one of my NT friends put it. I was also impressed by the presence of that rule. Before I posted, I observed and saw that it was enforced as well. So, I felt comfortable posting.
It's not that hard to treat each other with respect. Why can't we... and why aren't we?
Further... do we call each other on it? Do we let it go? Do we respond in kind? Or do we just walk away, realizing that Aspies and NTs have much more in common with each other than we want to admit? I mean that honestly, too...
Many of us want to be considered normal and accepted in spite of our behavior... flagrant disrespect for someone just because you have a different opinion from them or a piece of knowledge they do not... Well... that's something I see most in NTs the world over...
Thoughts?
