Hi,I'm Rob and I'm new here.

I'm mid 40's,English,but live in Germany and work as a Crime Scene Cleaner.

I always blamed being adopted on my lack of social skills and confidence, but after reading about AS and taking various tests online,I'm no longer so sure.Reading about AS has answered and explained so much of my past life and experiences, and I feel that I now have a basis from where I can start to sort my life out....at last.
Every test I have taken has placed me within the AS realm, and I've now moved up to getting an official diagnosis, but this is proving problematic. Its difficult enough diagnosing an adult, but an adult with no family or childhood history to look back on,and the language barrier as well...well,I suppose you can imagine.

Thank you.
Rob.

Hello! Oh dear it sounds like you've got quite a few issues to deal with there. I hope your diagnosis process goes smoothly and you get the answers you want. I hope you enjoy posting here and reading things you can identify with. :)

Hey Rob, your past seems to be akin to mine.
I came to the U.S. speaking broken English which got me picked on often.
I avoided everyone as much as I could. It could've been attributed to the language barrier, but it also could've been because I'm an aspie.
I'm still avoidant and, in many ways, childlike. I'd say I didn't mature like other folks my age. Yeah, it bothers me sometimes when people I know get married and have kids.
Oh, well.
