Hi. I've been on the chat a few times but never gotten around to registering on the forums. I've been pretty much a hermit for several months (had almost no social life since moving to London two years ago) and am trying to rectify that.
I first looked up Asperger's about 8 years ago and thought it sounded quite like me. About 5 years ago my dad told me that my half-brother (who I didn't grow up with) has an autism spectrum diagnosis. The more I've considered it the more I've thought that I am on that spectrum too. The NHS where I live doesn't provide a diagnostic service so my GP is currently trying to get me referred elsewhere for a diagnosis. I hope that getting access to a diagnostician isn't too much of a battle.
I'm 31, neutrois (agendered), pansexual. I love trains and railways, not much I enjoy more than travelling through attractive countryside in a carriage being pulled by a magnificent locomotive. I also love motor racing, I'm not that interested in the cars themselves but I love the strategy aspect as well as the overtaking battles. I follow F1, NASCAR, V8 Supercars and Indycar regularly. I like playing racing simulators too, started playing NASCAR Racing 2003 lately and still getting used to the handling characteristics (quite different to NASCAR Simracing that I'd been playing previously).
I like walking a lot, though I've done a lot less than I used to when I lived nearer to the countryside. I regularly feed the very tame squirrels in the local park, they're so cute! I like music though don't listen to it as regularly as I used to. The bands I listen to the most are Oceansize, Electric Light Orchestra, Converge and Porcupine Tree. Bruckner is without a doubt my favorite classical composer.
