Hello,
I was recently diagnosed (adult, 26 years old) with Aspergers. While visiting my doctor to discuss depression I have been experiencing I was soon referred to an autism specialist. At the time I took great offense to this, I was unaware of the autism spectrum and had a very misguided opinion of autism in general. They took the time to ask me questions, fill out questionnaires and even bought in my mother to discuss my childhood before formally coming to a diagnosis. I had so many questions, but my doctor is not always available so I have found myself doing a lot of research in books, online and also joining this forum.
This is the first forum I have been an active member on, but from what I have read I am in the right place to be forgiven for my social eccentricities.
Thank you for reading my introduction,
-Andrew
