I keep trying to to write an intro, then lose the words.

Hello. I'm a 31 year old mom of two, and married to my husband of 11 years (who I strongly suspect is also an aspie). As the title above mentioned, I keep trying to write an intro but I'm not sure what to say. I don't have an official dx but have been doing various aspie quizzes and routinely score in the ASD range. I haven't yet decided whether I want to go for an official dx since I haven't been severely impaired. I have always considered myself "quirky" but it didn't really hit me how I could be different until I had coworkers take the EQ quiz with me. The scored 11 and 16 respectively; I scored 39. I am fortunate enough to be in a job where my quirkiness and detachment in escalated situations are assets. I have managed over the years to develop coping strategies to get along in the world, but when I'm tired or stressed it is so hard to stay "normal". It has taken me four days going to recover from having family over to visit (even though I wanted them there!) and then jumping straight back into work after a two week vacation. Even though I adored the people visiting, it was so difficult to have to be "on" the whole time and never be able to zone out.

Glad to get to know you all. :)

Hi and welcome to WP! Don't stress out about your introduction. You did fine! It's good to have a new member here.

I totally relate to your family issues. Social gatherings can be fun and stressful at the same time. I have the same problem and need a LOT of alone down time to recover too, so you're not alone.
