Sooo, this is where I awkwardly introduce myself - I absolutely hate talking about myself, but here goes:
I'm 19, I was diagnosed with aspergers when I was nine - wish I never was 'cause that diagnosis provides teachers and such with a scapegoat excuse to mistreat me. I just graduated, I'm in college and I'm terrified for my future because I know those teachers who mistreated me came from this world outside my walls, and I know there's more where they came from - the world isn't kind to autistics. But I want to change that, I don't want future autistics to be afraid of their futures, to be afraid of failure, or of people, like I am. So there we go - and look at that, it's somehow 4:00am 8O wonderful. DX

Oh - and I hope people say "Hi" and that I didn't just scare everybody away. I'm an optimist, I swear!

Thanks for the welcome. XD

Now, why would anyone be scared off, young lady? A lot of us have dramatic stories or painful histories.
I hate that you are so young and have had it so tough. You are right. The world is full of ignorant people who can't seem to understand that not everyone is like them, and think that means there is something wrong with them.
Then they think it means it is OK to be mean.

I love myself now, but didn't at your age. I hope you do better than I did.

Welcome.

Thanks - I guess I'm used to people booking it in the opposite direction when the topic of hardship comes up. XD Judging by just a few responses like this one I think I'm really going to like it here - thanks for the welcome. :D I'm so glad things got better for you! XD

I think you'll find a lot of us have some sort of history
The cones were just some weird interest, but everyone found it funny so I continued :P

Well, we are the sum of our past - or as the Gestalt theory puts it "The whole is other than the sum of the parts"

You know, the second I asked about the cones, I knew that would be your answer. I had a thing for shoelaces once, still sorta do. XD

8O You read minds!
Shoelaces? How interesting, I didn't think you could do much with them beyond tying

They make for very excellent jewelry - and they fix stuff, like broken purse straps or such. And I add, my boyfriend likes my shoelace bracelets. XD
Besides, what can you do with cones other than use them for unusual hats? I must know. 8O

Oh good! Yes, there are some strange emoticons here :P

Well, cones can be used for stacking, annoying drivers, and making threads on forums about
