What is your first name? Nora

Age: 32

Location: Nova Scotia

Hobbies and Interests: Art, Literature, Writing

Why are you here? Asperger's

When were you diagnosed? Sometime around '95.

Favorite subjects: I always liked Art, Literature, History... And well, I rather enjoy studying Religion and Politics. (Yes, I can hear all of you shudder at once.)

Year/Grade: I'm long since finished with that thank goodness. :)

Favorite music: I'm fairly versatile -- but if it gets too crazy, it makes me stim.

Books: I read a lot of fantasy.

TV shows/Movies: I like a lot of different things.

Instrument: Native American G-Flat flute, drumming.

Do you like sports? I'll watch a few...

Family: Mom, (step)Dad, two sisters and one brother. (One sister and my brother are my stepFather's children, but I wouldn't be surprised if my brother was autistic. My biological sister hasn't ever been diagnosed with anything, and she seems pretty NT.)

Clothing: I live for comfort.

How did you find this website? Thanks to myspace, actually.

Job: I'm a full-time artist and writer.

Plans for the future? Well, I'd really like to finish these two novels...

Any comments? Not really... I moved to Canada fifteen months ago and still haven't managed to figure out how to meet people, make friends and then sustain that friendship -- so I'm pretty lonely.

Welcome to WP ! !! Check out the various forums, as they are quite different in content. If yer lookin' fer a friend, simply go the Love and Dating Forum, as that's where the lonely male ASpies hang out. (And I DO mean lonely.)

BTW, what are yer novels like ??? Fantasy? Sci-fi??

Well, actually one of them is well, erotica... the other is a little off my usual and is a sci-fi.

Thank you for the welcome! :)

Well, actually -- Alabama of all places. (Scary, eh?) Lucky for me I had one of those families that dragged us children all over the world so I actually grew up in Saudi. (My father is a civil and structural engineer and was building the King Saud University.)

So basically, I moved from the Saudi desert, to the confines of southern dogma, to the mountains, valleys and ocean view of Nova Scotia.

Yes, I'm very cold. *snicker*

Well, there's a story to that -- but I can make it a lot simplier -- I'm Native American and I spent waaaay too much time hiding behind tents at powwows listening to the music. With the right musician, I could completely relax and lose myself in it... so I decided to try for myself.

Now, if you listen very quietly in the valley here in Nova Scotia, on certain nights when the moon is very round and very full, and the local fire department is on stand-by because I've gotten a fire permit... you can hear the soft notes floating along on the chilly breeze...

...and the soon to follow neighbor screaming, "If my barn burns down, you'll pay!"

;)

Welcome to WP!! !!

I know the feeling of moving around a lot because that is what most of my life has been and it was all due to my dad's job with government. So, I know what you are going through.
