Hi, I'm a middle-aged man with Asperger's diagnosed several years ago. I have other psych problems relating to my condition, including depression, social phobia, anxiety and panic attacks. I'm on meds for all of these things, as well as seeing a therapist. This is my first time on an Asperger's forum.

I also recently found out that a young family member (8 years old) has Aspergers and ADHD.

I'm interested in communicating with others who can share information or advice about Asperger's and who understand what I'm going through.

Hi Noclevername! Welcome to Wrong Planet. Check out the many interesting and helpful forums here.

I first learned about Asperger's when I was in my mid 40s. I immediately recognized myself in the descriptions in the articles I was reading. Online tests have confirmed this. I also have a relative with some medical background who did some research, and agrees with me that I am an Aspy. I am in my mid 50s now. Finding out what is wrong with me after all those years of not knowing, was a help.

Keep up with the research online, here and at other sites. And remember, you are among friends here at WP! :D

Welcome Noclevername :)

Yes Aspergers is hereditary, and more common in males, so if you have it, another male relative may possibly have it.
