I discovered this site a while ago, and have visited it regularly enough since that I figured I ought to create an account and join in the discussions from time to time. Anyways, I've long been suspected (by parents and a general practice pediatrician or two back in the day) of having Asperger's, but haven't been diagnosed. When I was younger and less mature, I didn't want to admit the possibility that I might have it, as if it made me "broken" or something. But I got over it, but didn't really think about Asperger's much over the next couple of years, until eventually I decided to research into it some more, which led me to this site, which eventually led to me creating an account and writing this post.
So yeah, I feel there's a very good chance I have Asperger's. I've always lacked a certain level of adeptness when it comes to the more subtle elements of socializing, and hence my social life is pretty lacking for a college student. When I was a kid I used to have what I expect were meltdowns when I got overwhelmed or upset, though luckily they are very few and far between or at least much milder these days. I can be a little awkward when it comes to some physical things (slightly odd posture, gait, etc), and have some minor sensory issues. I took one of those rdos Aspie quizzes earlier today, and came up with a 126 Aspie/78 NT/"You are very likely an aspie." That's pretty typical compared to when I've taken the quiz in the past. I'm not really interested in getting a diagnosis and although I think I probably have Aspergers, it wouldn't shock me if my Asperger's-like traits were sub-clinical.
Anyways, just thought I'd say hi.
