Sup, everyone! :D

I've decided to join up here to go on a learning curve. I haven't got Aspergers myself but a certain someone very special to me does...haha, a few of you might be able to guess who that is, judging by my avatar. I managed to have a mini-meltdown over basically nothing simply because I wasn't properly understanding how the relationship and related communication was operating... :? So it's time to prevent that from happening again. Lol.

As for the usual intro stuff, I'm a big car fanatic. I'm in love with the Subaru Impreza...in fact, the one in my avatar is the one I own :D I'm nuts over it...ever stressed, bored or feel like doing something, it's wasting petrol time! As far as career goes, I design magazines etc for a living. Interesting at times, head-against-keyboard MURDEROUS other times (21 hour shift anyone?).

Anyway. I'm here to learn...I've always been a very 'body language' and 'mood' sort of person as far as communication goes, and for blatantly obvious reasons this really should change :? It's doing nothing but getting me worked up over nothing and leaving my poor boy in what I imagine is a bit of a 'WTF??' state...

So yeah. Hi! :D

Welcome to WP!

Is your user name a reference to the mineral shale?

You're a sharp man :)

Actually, it's a long story. Had a dream one night...insane dream, cars were living creatures...not too different from cats or dogs in behaviour. One of the characters in the dream was a mongrel of a version 6 WRX STi, grey in colour (nearly identical to my avatar), went by the name of 'Shale' because of his colour. He's become my identity, though I've actually named MY car after him.

Long story short...my car's name (yes, car has a name!) is Shale, but I'm known as Shale too :P Hurr.

Edit: Thought I'd be a spammer and make y'all dizzy with the full photo my avatar came from...

Welcome, Shale!

BTW, thanks for answering my thread! 8)

You're a graphic designer -- AWESOME!! I went to technical college for 2 years to be a network administrator but haven't found a job in computers, yet...

I'm doing some general office work (filing) until something promising comes up!

Heh. A buddy of mine has actually been pretty big on Imprezas in the past few years. As I remember he had like an 04' WRX, sold that off for a 2000'ish STI.

Welcome to the planet though Shale - hope you enjoy your stay and make a good friend or two :).

Hi everyone :D

TennisFanatic - been good talking to ya, it's an interesting thread. It's not too bad being a Graphic Designer but I'd far prefer to be chasing Petter Solberg out there in the WRC...the design is probably a more realistic job though 8)

Hope you manage to score your job in computers sometime soon, it's far better to be in your chosen career path after all. :)

RedMage - thanks :) Yep, that's my pride and joy, and the photoshoot that photo came from was a lot of fun. There were actually two cars there at the time, but only mine's in this shot...

techstepgenr8tion - thanks for the welcome :D I can see why your mate's really into Imprezas, they're insane. Mine's actually a non-turbo believe it or not (even though it looks like a version 6 STi) and even then it's so much more wild to drive than all the other cars I've driven. A 2004 WRX would have been a nice-looking car, but I imagine the '00 one would have been one of the bugeyes. Lol. At least they sound nice and go nice! :P

<3 you all :D

Ferrari eh? Yeah they're okay I guess :D Much prefer my flat-four sound ;) And having all four paws scrabbling for traction on gravel. Hehe! There are actually two of us car nuts floating around, my bf is just as bad as me...arguably worse! He's got one of these beasts too ;) Hurr...

Yeah Ferraris just don't do it for me at all :( If someone gave me one I'd sell it and then buy an S201 and a 22B and a v9 STi :lol: But then I'm just a weirdo... XD I'm one of those rare females actually physically turned on by the sound of a boxer engine with uneven-length headers... O__o;

Besides...not many people can afford a Ferrari :( And an S201 is only a little bit slower...

Hahaha yeah I can hear a Subaru going up the road...three streets down! :D People can't even HEAR a car and I'm like 'LOLSUBIE!' (yeah I say LOL in real life...) and I can tell when my bf's on his way, his Subaru has a very unique burble.

My dream cars are a ver6 STi sedan (what I have except the real thing, not an HX with a body kit :?) and a ver9 STi sedan :) They're somewhat affordable, but a hard slog. With the Ferrari...you may have some saving on your hands to get that...ouch...

Oh and of course, you can take a Subaru on gravel :D Wouldn't dare do that with a Ferrari :x

Too true, too true ! ! They're quite delicate in that regard. As for saving up, I'm working on a website for guys interested in fractional ownership of a Ferrari. Like a 348, not an F50 ! !!
