Howdy.

I've been organic for twenty-two years (plus nine months) and until about six hours ago, I had no knowledge of AS whatsoever. A few anchor tags across various Wikipedia articles later, here I am...with revelation in my eyes.

Now, I know the qualifications of the average wiki contributor (that is to say, next-to none). This lead to some Google probing and related research. As skeptical as I try to be, I'd still like to jump to the conclusion that I'm another soldier in Hans' Army -- it just makes too much sense.

I was hoping some of you would be willing to open up and share the tales of how you came to know of your (read:our) disorder. How old were you? Were you diagnosed professionally? How did you take it? Have you ever been misdiagnosed? Are/were you medicated? If so, how do you feel about that? Do you feel the same maddening pain of this thorn of unfounded (and possibly imagined) ostricization splintering and twisting into your core? Are you happy? Do you know what happiness is? Are you sure of anything? Nothing? Everything?...

I'll close the flood gates here. For now.

With every drop of what precious little excess love I can summon,
Wendell -- The Wanderer

P.S. I'll wager a post similar to this appears multiple times on these boards. I'm aware that beginning an unnecessary thread is like wearing jeans to church, but my home network is ill and I'm holding my laptop to the window to bum a trickle from the unsecured linksys across the street. I apologize. Such is life.

It came as a shock, didn't knew something like this existed, and when I knew about AS, I was surprised an relieved. Now I knew why I acted the way I did, things I said, attitudes I had.

I'm 30, I've known about AS for about six months and counting, I'm happy.
