Hello.

I am a 30 y/o Civil Engineer in Toronto, Canada.

A friend's friend is an Aspie. From my observations of Mr. Aspie and stories our mutual friend has said, I see in him behaviours that I relate to and behaviours I don't see in the average person. Some such behaviours I learned to overcome/suppress in my late teens/20s when others had done so earlier in life. This made me think and investigate; I see a lot of behaviours/events common amongst Aspies and myself, but not enough for me to rule out myself as simply being a socially awkward Nerd. I have decided to look into this for the sake of knowledge and self improvement.

Question:
- where can I go in the Toronto area to get tested for Autism/Aspergers? My Family doctor will write a referral if I ask, but relying on him to find/know a psychologist/psychiatrist is not an option.

For what its worth, I found the "Set of scientific tests related to Autism Spectrum Disorders" thread.
My rdos test results from last month are: Aspie score is 151/200 and NT is 54/200.

Hello and welcome.

There is a private consultation firm called "Redpath" ive heard of. Also if you google Asperger's society of Ontario they have a directory. A private consultation will probably cost you quite a bit of cash, so its only if you really need it.

If you are interested you can also check out the Toronto Asperger groups on meetup.com
