Just logged into Wrong Planet today, though I've lurked for a while.

I'm in the (currently) sunny South of England, work at a university, and I am well into middle age. Never been diagnosed (but try getting a doctor in the UK to listen to an old fogie who thinks they have AS!) - last time I tried to get my GP to listen they told me I couldn't possibly have it as I was "too old and it would have been picked up when I was younger" . Try telling that to my parents in the late 1960s early 1970s, back in the day of mental health "problems" having a real stigma attached.

But hey I've survived until now, so probably not much point in trying to stir things up. I know what I'm like and definitely have loads of the traits, so I'm happy as I am.

Current obsession? Well, has to be family history :study: - I just want to discover the long lost family fortunes, castles and titles as it's the only way I'll get rich

Found out about this site from some guy on an equal ops course about mental health in students, especially those "on the spectrum".

Welcome from an old-timer that was just diagnosed. I hope you will find some benefit in learning more about Asperger's.

Thanks for the welcomes - it looks like its a good site to get to know others with AS and share experiences.

I look forward to spending some time around here :D (though I suppose I ought to do some work as well  )
