Greetings to all forumers that will stumble onto this post.
I'm a 30 years old female student, who will be seeing a neurologist for a diagnosis.
From as far as I remember, 10 years old at best, I have had a problem understanding verbal/written instructions. Often, I ended up with a blank expression and was unable to process what a person has asked of me. Sometimes, I even ended up repeating aloud what has been instructed once or twice to "get it"... and it doesn't always work, mind you. I also had problems expressing myself and "get to the point", as well as ending up repeating several times, but with a different set of vocabulary and sentences. I would often forget words, having them often "on the tip of my tongue".
I also tend to misunderstand and being misunderstood.
Today, it is still a major issue and after 20+ years, I think it has to be more than just a "lack of confidence", as some individuals put it. It's rather crippling my studies, slowing me down greatly, compared to other students. Basically, all problems mentioned above are still very present.
I hope seeing a neurologist will disclose a few answers to what is going on in that head of mine so I can get the support needed.
